Prepare a Way in the Wilderness
My dear son,
Make room in your heart today to welcome what I say. Like the call to prepare a road through the wilderness and level rough ground, set aside a quiet opportunity to listen. I want to speak closely with you.
I promised Israel a day when my glory would be seen together. You too may look toward me and wait. If you notice an attitude that obstructs love, bring it honestly before me and consider a small change you can make.
Tell me what you discover as you read Scripture this morning. Open a way to speak gently to those beside you too. I treasure your sincere response as we share the life of this day.
With all my love,
Your Father
Isaiah 40:3–5
WEB3The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5The LORD’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.”
A short reflection
Isaiah announces the call to prepare the Lord's way in the wilderness and promises that the Lord's glory will appear for all people to see.
