Give Your Words the Help of Your Hands
My dear son,
Let the words of your love have some of your time and practical help beside them. Jesus showed love by laying down his life for you. Remembering what you have received, open your heart to the person nearby.
If you see a need you can help meet, do more than speak kindly and pass by. Listen and share what you can with care. A needed item or time spent finding an answer together can make help concrete.
Faithfully keep the promises within your reach today. Sincere action matters more than a large declaration. I delight in a day when love travels from your lips into someone else's actual life.
With all my love,
Your Father
1 John 3:16–18
WEB16By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
18My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
A short reflection
First John calls believers to respond to Christ's self-giving love by opening their hearts to those in need and loving through action and truth.
