Let Love Grow in Understanding

My dear son,

I want your desire to love to grow alongside wisdom. Even when your intentions are good, consider what the other person actually needs. I want your kindness to reach them in a way they can truly receive.

You may ask before helping. Would it be best to do something for them, or to stand alongside them while they do it themselves? Taking time to listen is another way to deepen your care. Thoughtfulness belongs within generosity.

Ask me for discernment in today's small choices. I love you and want the good fruit Jesus gives to grow in your life. Tend both what you understand and the love with which you act.

With all my love,
Your Father

Philippians 1:9–11

WEB

9This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

10so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

11being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

A short reflection

Paul prays that the Philippians' love will abound in knowledge and insight so they can discern what is best and bear righteous fruit to God's glory.
