Meet the Day in Faith and Love
My dear son,
You are my child, belonging to the light. Meet today with a clear mind and consider what is good. Carry faith and love close to your heart, with the hope of salvation guarding your thoughts. Let that picture shape your morning.
You need not stay tense by worrying about everything that might happen. Rely on me, recognize opportunities to love, and hold on to hope. Pay calm attention so that things that cloud your judgment do not lead your day.
Give care where it is yours to give, and receive joyful things with gratitude. Ask when you need help. I treasure your steps as you live truthfully, walking in the light.

WEB5You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
6so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
7For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
8But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
