Gratitude Traveling with a Gift
My dear son,
The help you share can meet someone's needs and bring hearts closer together. I delight in such connections. Love continues when a recipient gives thanks and prays for the giver. A practical gift can become part of a lasting relationship.
If you help someone today, first listen to what they need. What matters is that help truly reaches their life. Give what you can manage with care, without making recognition of your name the purpose.
When you receive help, welcome it gratefully too. Pray for each other by name. May respect remain between the giving hand and the receiving hand, and may both of you find joy in me.
With all my love,
Your Father
2 Corinthians 9:12–14
WEB12For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,
13seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,
14while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.
A short reflection
Paul explains that relief ministry meets believers' needs, brings thanksgiving and glory to God, and draws people into affection and prayer for one another.
