Truth That Fits Your New Life

My dear son,

You can keep growing into something new today. As you take off old clothes and put on fresh ones, leave falsehood behind and meet people truthfully. As the Father who made you, I want you to grow in my likeness.

You need not enlarge the facts when introducing yourself. Do not rank other people by their background or position either. In Christ, such divisions are no reason to push a person aside. Each one belongs before you as a person.

Come close this morning ready to learn. Ask about what you do not know, and correct what is wrong. May honest words and respect for people fit your day as naturally as fresh clothes.

With all my love,
Your Father

Colossians 3:9–11

WEB

9Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,

10and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

11where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Christ is all, and in all.

A short reflection

Paul urges believers to put away lies as people renewed in their Creator's image and describes a community in Christ beyond inherited social divisions.
