Courage to Tell What You Have Seen
My dear son,
I hope you have courage to speak truth today. Do not easily abandon what you know is right simply to please people. Peter and John firmly said they would continue telling what they had seen and heard of Jesus.
Courage does not always mean raising your voice. Carefully establishing the facts and speaking calmly can show deep strength. Distinguish your own opinion from what is true, and seek advice when it would help you do that.
Bring your conscience before me as the morning begins. If something needs saying, say it honestly and respectfully. I want you to treasure my will more than fear, with a clear heart and care for those who listen.
With all my love,
Your Father
Acts 4:19–20
WEB19But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
20for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”
A short reflection
Ordered by the leaders to stop speaking in Jesus' name, Peter and John insist on obeying God and testifying to what they have seen and heard.
