People Who Had Been with Jesus
My dear son,
When you speak about me, I hope my love is also present in the way you live. Those listening to Peter and John recognized that they had been with Jesus. A man who had received healing stood beside them too.
You do not need impressive words to make yourself appear important. Share truthfully what you know, and learn what you do not. A day spent thoughtfully giving others the love received from Jesus can lend weight to your words.
Treat people with respect today, and bring faithfulness to your work. Let what you learn from me remain in your tone and touch. I delight in the honesty of your life.
With all my love,
Your Father
Acts 4:13–14
WEB13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
14Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
A short reflection
The leaders recognize Peter and John's boldness and their association with Jesus, and cannot refute them with the healed man standing beside them.
