Good News in Each Person's Language

My dear son,

I want your words to reach others in a way they can readily understand. At Pentecost, people from many regions heard the good news in their own languages. Their differences in speech could not confine the message.

If you explain something today, choose words the other person knows. Give them time to ask questions without rushing them for not understanding. Caring about the listener is one way of making love understandable.

When something is unfamiliar to you, ask about what you do not know. Open your ears to people from other backgrounds too. I delight in seeing you work to understand each other's words and share in one another's joy.

With all my love,
Your Father

6When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.

7They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?

8How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?

A short reflection

At Pentecost, people from many regions are astonished to hear the Galilean disciples speaking in each listener's own native language.
