Branches Tended by the Word

My dear son,

As a gardener carefully tends branches on a vine, I want good fruit to grow in your life. Stay connected to Jesus, listen to my words, and live them. Value the conditions for healthy growth more than appearing impressive.

Tell me how you spend your time and how you speak to people. Nurture good habits gladly, and attend to what needs changing. Make room to let my words illuminate the way you are living.

You need not repair everything at once today. Make one small choice that supports love. I want to care for your honest growth with a gardener's patience and attention as you listen to my words.

With all my love,
Your Father

1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.

2Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

3You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

A short reflection

Jesus calls himself the true vine and the Father the gardener who tends its branches, saying the disciples have been cleansed through his word.
