The Lord Who Is Resurrection and Life
My dear son,
Today I want to offer you the hope of life. Jesus said that he is the resurrection and the life. Come close in trust that the life I give reaches beyond the endings you can see.
Receive that promise with gratitude on joyful days too. When time with someone you love is given to you, cherish it fully. If a day of grief comes, you may lean on me without forcing yourself to appear cheerful.
Tell me about your life and the relationships precious to you this morning. With resurrection hope, give the love you can today. I want you to trust Jesus and live within his promise of life.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 11:25–27
WEB25Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
26Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
27She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, God’s Son, he who comes into the world.”
A short reflection
Jesus tells Martha, whose brother has died, that he is the resurrection and the life. She confesses him as the Christ and Son of God.
