The Freedom the Son Gives
My dear son,
When you recognize something wrong in your life, do not resign yourself to its lasting grip. Jesus spoke of the Son's true freedom for those enslaved by sin. You can return to me, relying on that love.
You do not have to face everything through sheer private determination. Speak honestly about what needs changing, and ask for help when you need it. I want you to be free to choose what is good.
This morning, begin with one small action you can change. If a habit needs breaking, seek support from someone trustworthy. Walk again in the right direction, held by the love that calls you toward freedom.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 8:34–36
WEB34Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.
35A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.
36If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
A short reflection
Jesus describes sin as slavery and teaches that the Son, who remains in the household forever, gives genuine freedom.
