An Invitation That Shares Your Joy
My dear son,
I delight when you discover something precious and want someone you love to know about it. After meeting Jesus, Andrew found his brother Simon and shared the news. By bringing him along, he made room for Simon's own encounter.
Share the joy of knowing my love in a simple, honest way. Listen to the other person's questions and allow them time to learn. You do not have to possess every answer before you can walk alongside someone.
If faith comes up in conversation today, speak truthfully about the good you have received. Listen carefully to what the other person thinks. I treasure the way you care for people while sharing your gladness.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 1:40–42
WEB40One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
41He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Christ).
42He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).
A short reflection
Andrew tells his brother Simon that he has found the Messiah and brings him to Jesus, who gives Simon the name Cephas.
