Bring Your Needs and Seek My Kingdom

My dear son,

I know that you need food and drink. Tell me freely about the ordinary necessities of your life. As your Father, I am interested in what happens where you live, not only in matters that seem lofty or far away.

Do not become so occupied with what you might obtain today that you lose sight of the kind of person you want to be. Seek my kingdom by choosing honesty and kindness. My will has a place in your daily routines.

Let us face this day together. Ask for needed help, and share gladly when you can. It brings me joy when you value love and fairness in the place where you live.

With all my love,
Your Father

Luke 12:29–31

29“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

30For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

31But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

A short reflection

Jesus assures the disciples that the Father knows their need for food and drink and urges them to seek God's kingdom.
