Gratitude among the Wildflowers

My dear son,

If you notice a small flower along your way today, pause beside it. Jesus said that even Solomon's splendid clothing could not match its beauty. I have dressed easily overlooked grass and flowers in lovely colors.

As you look, remember to regard yourself with care too. You do not become precious by appearing more impressive than someone else. Let the knowledge of my care stay nearer than the urge to compete over appearances.

Ask me for what you need this morning, and fully enjoy the beauty already around you. Even the color of one leaf can bring delight. Live this day gently within the world I have made.

With all my love,
Your Father

Luke 12:27–28

27Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

A short reflection

Jesus points to God's beautiful clothing of lilies and grass, inviting the disciples to trust God's care instead of worrying about their clothing.
