A Word That Opens the Way Back
My dear son,
Just as you would seek a doctor when you are ill, come to me when you want to set your heart and life right. You do not need proof that you have done nothing wrong. I welcome your willingness to return.
Jesus said he came to call sinners to repentance. Instead of spending your strength hiding, talk with me about what needs to change. You can acknowledge what is wrong and begin walking in a better direction.
I am glad when you open your heart toward me this morning. If an apology is needed, offer it sincerely. If something can be put right, take that step. With me, you can make an honest new beginning.
With all my love,
Your Father
Luke 5:31–32
WEB31Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
A short reflection
Jesus compares his work to a physician's care for the sick, explaining that he came to call sinners to repentance.
