Light for the Ground Beneath You

My dear son,

As dawn grows brighter, the shape of a road becomes clearer. I want you to love an upright way of life so you can see where you are walking and recognize what might cause you to stumble.

When one lie is added to hide another, the ground beneath your feet becomes harder to see. Choose truth, acknowledge what is wrong, and draw near to me. I will teach you wisdom to discern your steps.

Even without seeing far ahead today, you can choose the next honest step. If you do not know, pause and ask. I want us to walk together enjoying an upright life as gladly as we welcome the first light of morning.

With all my love,
Your Father

Proverbs 4:18–19

WEB

18But the path of the righteous is like the dawning light that shines more and more until the perfect day.

19The way of the wicked is like darkness. They don’t know what they stumble over.

A short reflection

Proverbs compares the righteous path to the growing light of dawn and the wicked path to darkness where people cannot see what makes them stumble.
