Words That Honor the Facts
My dear son,
Let your words today carefully hold the facts as they are. Speak gladly of what went well, and say honestly when you do not yet know. Your place in my love does not depend on explaining everything impressively.
Even a small exaggeration can affect another person's judgment. I want your words to be trustworthy. Keep your heart far from the desire to mislead someone or twist an account to your advantage.
Pause to review a message before you send it. State a limitation honestly, and correct something you have misreported. When truthfulness calls for courage, seek me. I will steady your heart as you choose words that people can safely trust.
With all my love,
Your Father
