The Wisdom to Turn Away
My dear son,
Some roads are best avoided before you enter them. If a path involves harming someone or profiting through deceit, you do not need to test how far you could travel it. You can turn and choose another way.
Declining to participate in wrong is a choice that values your heart and your neighbor's life. Do not let the prospect of a passing gain draw you away from the honesty you treasure.
If an offer troubles your conscience today, take time to examine it before answering. Ask me for wisdom, and speak with someone trustworthy. I am glad to see the courage with which you turn your feet toward a good path.
With all my love,
Your Father
