Cultivating a Place to Live Together

My dear son,

When springs rise in dry ground, people find a place to settle and live. When I provided for the hungry, they built towns together and cultivated fields and vineyards. Hands that had received care began to nurture life.

Tend the place entrusted to you with that same love. Share your strength with others instead of trying to supply everything alone. Asking what is needed and valuing each other's labor are precious ways to live.

Begin today with one small thing your hands can do. Enjoy received grace with gratitude, and make room for someone else to live and grow. I lovingly watch the time you spend working together and celebrating what grows.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 107:35–38

WEB

35He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.

36There he makes the hungry live, that they may prepare a city to live in,

37sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase.

38He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. He doesn’t allow their livestock to decrease.

A short reflection

The psalm describes God bringing springs to dry ground, settling the hungry there, and blessing them as they build towns and cultivate fields and vineyards.
