Asking the Way as You Walk

My dear son,

When people lost in the wilderness cried to me, I cared for them and led them toward a place to live. Admitting you do not know the way is an honest prayer you can bring me. There is no shame in it.

When you cannot tell where to go, ask me. Seek guidance and receive the help beside you. You do not need every answer before we can begin walking together.

If today's road is familiar, enjoy it gratefully; if it is new, look around carefully. When someone asks you for directions, offer kindness in your answer. I want you to care for each other as you follow the way I lead.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 107:4–7

WEB

4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.

5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7He led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.

A short reflection

The psalm recounts how lost and exhausted travelers in the wilderness cried to God, who rescued them and led them to an inhabited city.
