Prayer at Every Hour

My dear son,

After you greet me in the morning, our conversation can continue all day. I listen when you speak at noon and in the evening, too. Your prayers reach me beyond any particular time you have set aside.

Bring me news that makes you smile and the deepest sigh of your heart. If something is difficult to say, you can sit quietly awhile. My attention does not depend on your ability to explain yourself well.

Call to me often in the hours of your day. You can share a brief thought as you walk or pause to rest. As your day unfolds, I want to keep the conversation going with you.

With all my love,
Your Father
