The River That Brings the City Joy

My dear son,

As a river flowing through a city brings its people joy, may knowing I am among you bring fullness to your heart. The joy of trusting me rests in my presence and care, beyond your own ability to hold everything together.

My people live within the love of my abiding presence. When night gives way to dawn, I remain the God who helps them. Depend on me today, and look kindly at the people who share your life.

Tell me about the people and places entrusted to your care. Ask for strength instead of trying to hold everything alone. Settle your heart before me, as though sitting beside quietly flowing water, and let us begin the day.

With all my love,
Your Father

A short reflection
