What You Say to Your Own Heart

My dear son,

Choose gentle words when you speak to your own heart. When you are happy, laugh with me; when your heart sinks, take your time telling me why. There is no part of your mood you need to hide.

When discouragement comes, do not let it speak for your whole future. You can wait for me with hope that praise will return. I am your Savior, and I want you to find joy again.

You need not force yourself into a particular feeling today. Entrust your heart as it is to me, and take one step beside me. Stay close to my loving words, where the voices that hurry and scold you need not rule.

With all my love,
Your Father
