Gratitude Spoken Aloud
My dear son,
It brings me joy when you share the love you have received with other people. You need not keep the story of life with me tucked away inside. Tell of the faithfulness you have come to know in your own voice.
There is no need to invent an impressive story. Speak truthfully about what makes you grateful and the time we have shared. A small expression of thanks may help someone else come to know me more closely.
If gratitude comes to mind today, share it freely. Welcome another person's story, too, and exchange the grace you have received. May my love find a warm place in the conversations you have together.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 40:9–10
WEB9I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know.
10I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
A short reflection
The psalmist promises to proclaim the Lord's saving righteousness, faithfulness, and steadfast love to the congregation rather than keeping them hidden in his heart.
