The Weight of Truthful Words

My dear son,

You can trust my words and lean on them. My love is faithful to the truth, and my concern for what is right includes those who are vulnerable. Justice and steadfast love belong together in what I delight in.

I want that same truthfulness to shape your words. Make promises you can keep, and ask honestly about what you do not know. It is a precious thing when others can feel secure in what you say.

Give thought to even a small conversation today. Your language need not be impressive. A word that is both honest and gentle can carry love. Let us shape a day like that together.
