Walking with a Willingness to Learn
My dear son,
You can ask me which way to go. I want to stay close, watching over you as I teach and talk through the road ahead. I am a Father who takes a loving interest in your steps.
I hope you will walk willingly, listening and discerning what is good, rather than moving only when pulled like a horse by its reins. When you keep your heart open to learning, our conversation can grow deeper.
Tell me your plans freely today. If you see something that needs changing, you can change it. You do not have to cling to the first route you imagined. I love you as you learn to walk well beside me.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 32:8–9
WEB8I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.
9Don’t be like the horse, or like the mule, which have no understanding, who are controlled by bit and bridle, or else they will not come near to you.
A short reflection
The Lord promises instruction and counsel about the right way, warning against being like a horse or mule that must be controlled with bit and bridle.
