A Prayer That Lifts Your Head

My dear son,

I want to greet you by name with affection this morning. I am the shield around you and the one who lifts your head. What other people say about you does not tell the whole story.

Receive praise with gratitude, and listen honestly to words that call for reflection. But do not place your worth in the hands of mockery or harsh speech. When you call to me, I hear your voice.

Whether today holds something joyful or something that requires courage, talk with me before you set out. You can meet people trusting the love that lifts your head. I want to walk through this day with you.

With all my love,
Your Father
