The Creator Who Calls the Stars
My dear son,
Think of the stars in the night sky. I bring them out one by one without losing a single one, and I am the Father who watches over your life. Your circumstances are not too small for me to see.
I made the ends of the earth. I do not grow weary, and my wisdom cannot be exhausted. The things you do not understand do not leave me unable to see a way. You can entrust your questions and hopes to me.
Tell me your stories, large and small, tonight. Share the joy of seeing something beautiful in the world. Rest in the Creator's love that knows you. Your Father does not want you worn out from trying to comprehend everything alone.
With all my love,
Your Father
Isaiah 40:25–28
WEB25“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
27Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
28Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
A short reflection
Isaiah proclaims the tireless Creator who calls forth the stars, challenging Israel's complaint that its circumstances and cause are hidden from God.
