The Patience of Mercy
My dear son,
I am the God who waits to be gracious and rises to show compassion. I am not a Father who hastily shuts the way home. I want you to know the patient love that calls you to trust me and live rightly.
Because I value justice, I do not treat wrongdoing lightly. Yet I want to show mercy to the child who acknowledges wrong and returns. You can honestly examine before me what you have been relying on.
Tell me this evening both what makes you grateful and what you need to reconsider. You do not have to choose only one. Come close in trust in your Father's faithfulness. I want to share an honest, loving relationship with you.
With all my love,
Your Father
