The City Lit by the Lamb
My dear son,
In the new city I will bring to completion, the Lamb and I are its temple, and the Lamb is its lamp. My glory will make it bright without the sun or moon. I want you to know the promise of that place of complete love.
Come to know who Jesus is instead of wandering far away in search of light. As you read closely of the love that saves you and pray, the direction of your hope can become clearer.
Tonight, you do not have to measure everything by what lies immediately before you. Let your heart rest as you look toward life completed in me. May your Father's love, which will dwell with you and light your life, become a deep source of hope.

WEB22I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.
A short reflection
John describes God and the Lamb as the temple of the New Jerusalem. God's glory and the Lamb's light make the sun and moon unnecessary.
