Growing Together as One Body

My dear son,

There are things you do well and things you can learn from others. Just as every part of a body has a different task, people sharing life need not all look alike. What matters is the connection between you.

Receive your part gladly within the community led by Jesus as its head. Speak the truth with love, and recognize the worth of other people's work. You do not have to move the entire body through your strength alone.

Give thanks for the people beside you today. Enjoy the help you received and gladly acknowledge what you shared. Your Father wants you to help one another grow, instead of living only in competition with each other.

15but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,
16from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

A short reflection

Paul teaches that believers grow toward Christ, the head, by speaking truth in love, as each connected part contributes to building the whole body up in love.
