Making Room for Good Thoughts
My dear son,
I want what is true and lovely to remain in your thoughts. If you remember someone's honest action or tender words, take time to enjoy your gratitude. I love the way your eyes can notice what is beautiful and good.
Let those good thoughts reach daily life. As you put kindness into your tone and choose what you know is right, you can depend on my peace. Even a small, thoughtful effort can brighten another person's day.
Tell me this evening about something good you want to remember. You can also tell me about an example you hope to follow tomorrow. Pay attention to what fills your mind, and grow as a child who gladly practices what is lovely.
With all my love,
Your Father
Philippians 4:8–9
WEB8Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
9Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
A short reflection
Paul urges believers to think about what is true, right, pure, lovely, and commendable, and to put into practice what they have learned and received from him.
