Asking for Courage Together

My dear son,

When you need courage to speak truthfully, you may ask me. Boldness means more than raising your voice. I want to strengthen the heart that holds onto love and truth even when fear is still present.

The believers under threat prayed together for strength to proclaim the word. Filled with the Holy Spirit, they could speak boldly again. You do not have to manufacture every bit of courage from your own resources either.

If there are words you need to say tomorrow, tell me about them calmly. I want you to speak while honoring the person who will hear you. This evening, depend on the Spirit who helps you, entrust your preparation to your Father, and rest.

With all my love,
Your Father

Acts 4:29–31

29Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

30while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”

31When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

A short reflection

Threatened believers pray for boldness in proclaiming the word and signs through Jesus' name. They are filled with the Holy Spirit and speak God's word courageously.
