Gratitude Around the Table
My dear son,
I would love for joy to find a place at your table. The first believers broke bread together, ate with sincere hearts, and praised me. Their faith was alive in the time they spent sitting face to face and enjoying one another.
I am glad to see you gratefully enjoy the food you have received. If you have someone to eat with, welcome that company. If you eat alone, give your own meal the same thoughtful care.
Food someone prepares carries their effort as well. You can express your gratitude in your own words. As the day ends, share with me the joy of being nourished and of living alongside other people.
With all my love,
Your Father
Acts 2:46–47
WEB46Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.
A short reflection
The early believers gather in the temple and in homes, share meals with glad and sincere hearts, and praise God as the Lord adds those being saved.
