Where the Words of Life Are Found
My dear son,
Tell me in your own words why you follow me. Your confession need not sound as forceful as someone else's. As Peter confessed that Jesus has the words of eternal life, speak about the love to which you hold.
When people leave and many voices compete for your attention, consider who truly gives life. I want you to remain near me because you are coming to know and trust Jesus, rather than simply following the mood around you.
Unanswered questions may still be part of your faith. You do not have to understand everything before you can love me. This evening, draw close to the words that give life, and let us share honestly in the faith you have.

WEB67Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”
68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
A short reflection
When Jesus asks whether the Twelve also wish to leave, Peter answers that Jesus has the words of eternal life and is the Holy One of God.
