The Lord Who Will Not Turn You Away
My dear son,
As you come to me, do not begin by fearing rejection. Jesus said he would not turn away anyone who comes to him. The will I entrusted to my Son is to lose no one and to raise them to life.
My love for you is more than a welcome that soon fades. It reaches into the promise of eternal life for those who believe in Jesus and resurrection on the last day. You may lean your heart upon that deep love.
Come to me as you are today, with both thanks and confession. I want you to live securely within the love given through my Son, rather than struggle to earn a place where you may remain in my presence.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 6:37–40
WEB37All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.
38For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.
40This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
A short reflection
Jesus promises not to reject anyone who comes to him or lose those entrusted by the Father, and declares that believers in the Son will be raised on the last day.
