Hope While You Wait

My dear son,

As a watchman looks for morning, you can look to my word and wait with hope. If there is something you are waiting for, tell me about it. You do not have to count the passing hours alone.

Even when you cannot decide when an answer will arrive, I remain your Father. Keep the promises of my love close at hand. Someone is listening to you and sharing your life throughout the waiting.

Tonight, slowly read a verse that has stayed with you. There is no need to hurry toward a conclusion. Look toward me with the quiet expectation of someone waiting for dawn, and receive the rest you need.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 130:5–6

WEB

5I wait for the LORD. My soul waits. I hope in his word.

6My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

A short reflection

The psalmist hopes in God's word and waits for God more eagerly than watchmen wait for morning.
