Wonder beyond the Grains of Sand
My dear son,
Even counting one handful of sand grain by grain can seem endless. You can come close to me without comprehending all my thoughts. You do not have to explain everything about your Father before you can receive his love.
Come to know the depth and breadth of my heart little by little. Ask what you want to ask. I want you to enjoy knowing that when you sleep and wake, you are still with me. You can rely on love greater than what you understand.
There is no need to hurry to fill every blank tonight. Share gladly what you learned today, and rest. I want us to keep talking and growing close over time.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 139:17–18
WEB17How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum!
18If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.
A short reflection
The psalmist marvels at God's precious and immeasurable thoughts, more numerous than sand, and declares that when he wakes he is still with God.
