A Prayer for Going Out and Coming Home

My dear son,

I want you to know a Father's heart that warmly sends a child out and gladly welcomes them home. You matter to me in the ordinary movements of your day, as well as in moments when something important happens.

Rely on me as you go out and come in. Call freely on the God who treasures and guards your life. The love I want to give you is more than a passing interest that notices you today and forgets you tomorrow.

Let your body rest this evening as we talk together. Extend a kind thought toward people still on the road. As the door closes on this day, I gladly call to you, my beloved child.

With all my love,
Your Father
