A Final Prayer to Be Found
My dear son,
Even after learning much from me, you may encounter an unfamiliar road. When that happens, do not let shame lead you farther away alone. I want you to know that ours is a relationship in which you can ask your Father to find you.
Even if you feel like a lost sheep, do not release the love I have taught you. Tell me honestly where you are and ask for help. My care for you is not based only on how capable you have become.
Draw close this evening. If there is joy to share, let us sing; if you have a question, take your time asking. I want to watch your growth with enduring affection.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 119:173–176
WEB173Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
174I have longed for your salvation, LORD. Your law is my delight.
175Let my soul live, that I may praise you. Let your ordinances help me.
176I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your commandments.
A short reflection
At the close of the psalm, the writer seeks help and salvation so he may praise God, then asks God to seek him like a sheep that has wandered.
