Friends Who Learn My Word Together
My dear son,
Conversations shared with good friends can remain in your heart for years. I hope you warmly welcome people who want to listen to my words and live by them with you. Asking questions and sharing what you know can draw you closer.
I want to share with you the song of my steadfast love filling the earth. May our time together become so much a part of life that remembering my teaching at night brings gratitude. Your questions are welcome to me too.
If someone comes to mind with whom you share Scripture, pray for them today. Be friends who grow honestly without rushing one another. I am glad when you tend your friendships within my love.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 119:61–64
WEB61The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law.
62At midnight I will rise to give thanks to you, because of your righteous ordinances.
63I am a friend of all those who fear you, of those who observe your precepts.
64The earth is full of your loving kindness, LORD. Teach me your statutes.
A short reflection
Despite oppression, the psalmist remembers God's word, gives thanks at midnight, befriends those who fear God, and asks to learn within his world-filling steadfast love.
