Love That Does Not Stay Angry Forever

My dear son,

I am not a Father waiting to bring up your failures and scold you endlessly. My love is abundant, and I want you to return honestly. I hope you can speak before me without concealing your heart.

I am merciful and patient. I do not simply count your wrongs one by one to repay each in kind. Lean on my grace as you turn away from what is wrong and learn to live more faithfully.

As our conversation closes tonight, receive my tender invitation to rest. Correct what needs correcting honestly, and enjoy the love you have received. Learn from me how to welcome the changes growing in another person too.

With all my love,
Your Father
