I Treasure an Honest Heart
My dear son,
You do not need to prepare impressive words before returning to me. When you recognize a wrong and tell me you are sorry, I take that heart seriously. Come to me honestly tonight.
I would love for you to open your heart instead of trying to look as though everything is fine. If you feel regret, share it with me rather than remaining alone in self-hatred. I will not despise my child who wants to turn back.
Let us consider what can be put right and rely on my mercy. Let your confession become a way home. End this night with the comfort of knowing you can be truthful with your Father.
With all my love,
Your Father
