Love That Stays beside a Broken Heart
My dear son,
On brighthearted days, I welcome your smile. On days when your heart is broken, I want to draw even closer and listen. My love does not move away from you according to the kind of day you have had.
Even those who live rightly can face hard days. Offer love first when you stand beside someone in trouble. I am the God who hears cries and stays close to broken hearts. Ask me for help and lean near.
If there is someone you want to pray for tonight, let us speak their name together. Value the care you need yourself too. I delight when my children notice one another's pain and reach out with a warm hand.

A short reflection
The psalmist declares that the Lord hears the righteous and stays near the brokenhearted; although the righteous face many afflictions, the Lord delivers them.
