Learning the Joy of Forgiveness

My dear son,

I hope you will not stay away from me because you are hiding a wrong. You can tell your Father the truth. Open your heart without deception, ask for forgiveness, and find courage to begin living freely again.

I want you to know the happiness of being forgiven. Seek my mercy sincerely instead of exhausting yourself pretending to be faultless. I want to speak tenderly to you as you lay down your guilt and take up life again.

If something needs examining tonight, tell me honestly. Put right what needs correction, step by step, and receive forgiveness with gratitude. Because I love you, I want you to be able to lift your face again.

With all my love,
Your Father
