Remember Me with Mercy
My dear son,
When you tell me about your past, you do not have to choose only the moments that make you proud. Admit what you did wrong and return to me. I want you to live anew in love instead of remaining trapped by the past.
Trust my mercy and goodness as you speak about the mistakes of your youth. Come back seeking forgiveness rather than letting concealment carry you farther away. Rely on my enduring love and lift your face to me honestly.
If something needs to be made right, take responsibility calmly, one step at a time. Do not hate your own existence in the process. Tonight your Father's voice is tender toward the child who asks for forgiveness.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 25:6–7
WEB6LORD, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.
7Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness’ sake, LORD.
A short reflection
The psalmist asks the Lord to remember his ancient compassion and steadfast love, and to remember him according to divine mercy and goodness rather than his youthful sins.
