Come Close to Grace
My dear son,
If there is something you want to ask me tonight, come close. You do not need to calculate whether you have done well enough to deserve help. I am waiting with a desire to show you mercy.
Jesus understands human weakness and temptation. When you wonder whether anyone will understand your heart, come to me through him. In the presence of my grace, you can speak openly about what you need.
Tell me what help would matter instead of trying to endure everything alone. I welcome your gratitude, too. Tonight, come with the confidence of a child approaching a loving Father, and let your heart rest beside me.
With all my love,
Your Father
Hebrews 4:15–16
WEB15For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
16Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
A short reflection
Hebrews urges believers to approach God's grace confidently through Jesus, their sympathetic high priest, to receive timely mercy and help.
