Closing the Day with Thanks

My dear son,

May the peace of Christ settle in your heart tonight. I have called you into a life of love together as one body. There is a place for you to receive love there and to share it.

I want my word to dwell richly in your heart. It can come alive in songs you sing together and in thoughtful conversations that help each other grow. Entrust your ordinary words and actions to me.

If you have something to thank me for, a few simple words are enough. Even an imperfectly sung song is a joy for me to hear. I want to hear your voice and close this day with you.

16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
17Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

A short reflection

Paul calls believers to let Christ's peace and word dwell richly among them, doing everything in the name of the Lord Jesus with gratitude.
