A Time for Hope to Grow

My dear son,

Tonight, enjoy the peace between us that comes through Jesus. Standing in grace means you do not have to produce hope all by yourself. Lean on the love of your Father and receive what is given.

Through the Holy Spirit, I pour my love into your heart. That love can sustain your growth when you must wait and persevere. Even in difficulty, leave room for hope to remain alive.

Rejoice in grace on peaceful days, and ask for strength when you need it. Receive freely the love that holds you today. You can rest in the hope of being with your Father before knowing how tomorrow will turn out.

With all my love,
Your Father

Romans 5:1–5

WEB

1Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

2through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

4and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

5and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

A short reflection

Paul explains that those justified by faith have peace with God and can hope even in suffering through the love poured into their hearts by the Spirit.
